Recipies for slip cast and handbuilt

All firings are done in a soda kiln cone 9/10 reduction medium

Porcelain Casting Slip, "altered from Harlan House Porcelain recipie"

Grolleg - 5300 gr.

G-200 Potash Feldspar - 1750gr

Neph Sy - 1750gr

500 mesh Silica - 2400gr

water - 3400 gr - up to 4000

darvan -begin with 25, and gradually add as needed up to 40cc

In time  you develop a feel for it, nice and webby in the fingers, start with the lower amounts and gradually add water if it is too sticky, darvan if it isn't webby. Mix darvan with some water when you are adding it.

Porcelain paper clay

Grolleg - 2650gr

G-200 - 575gr

Neph Sy - 575 gr

500 mesh silica - 1200gr

water - 2000gr

2 rolls delsey double roll toilet paper

break apart  "TP"  and blend into the water then add dry ingredients in the order they are listed. 

this does have to be dried out a little on a plaster bat

Southern Ice Paper Clay

I also use souther ice made into paper clay, same recipie but use 2 bags of "southern ice"

On Southern Ice and the Porcelain slip this glaze is a soft icy celadon blue in the soda
